merican Samoa, New Caledonia and Solomon Islands were provided 30 minutes each to present their case for hosting the 2011 Games.
All bids were very professional and colourful and all presented an excellent case for hosting the Games.
In a close and interesting vote the first round went to New Caledonia with 22 votes, Solomon Islands with 12 votes and American Samoa with 11 Votes. Had New Caledonia taken one extra vote at this time they would have won outright.
Consequently, American Samoa were eliminated and a second round was conducted between Solomon Islands and New Caledonia.
